analyst names 2 SEC QBs as players to watch leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft

The 2018 NFL Draft is going to be stacked at the quarterback position, especially after juniors Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and others left college early.

However, the 2019 draft class is wide open at the moment, and one NFL analyst thinks a pair of SEC quarterbacks could join NC State’s Ryan Finley as the top candidates for next year’s NFL Draft.’s Daniel Jeremiah named Mizzou QB Drew Lock and Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham as quarterbacks to watch during the 2018 season:

“Lock gets the most buzz around the league of these three,” Jeremiah wrote. “He might have the highest ceiling of the group. Everyone loves his size and arm strength. He led the FBS with 43 TD passes this season.

“Stidham, after having been off for a year following his transfer from Baylor, led Auburn to wins against the two best teams in the country — Alabama and Georgia — and played his best ball in big moments late in the regular season. I think he needs to work on cleaning up his footwork to take his game to another level.”

With big seasons, either one of the SEC stars could work their way into the conversation to be the No. 1 overall pick.

However, there’s still a lot of work to do and much could change before next year’s NFL Draft.
