The speculation can now end, Jacob Eason is officially leaving Athens.
The former five-star prospect that was seen as Georgia’s savior soon after his arrival is now gone after only two seasons on campus. Following Jake Fromm’s emergence and the signing of 2018 five-star prospect Justin Fields, this move seemed inevitable if Eason had any hopes of starting the near future.
Give credit to Eason, however, he never issued any frustration with losing his spot or not being played against Auburn in the Dawgs lone regular-season loss in a game where Fromm was mostly ineffective.
Eason announced the news on Twitter Friday afternoon:
Thank you UGA for an incredible two years. The memories and relationships I have made will truly last a lifetime. I will miss suiting up in red and black, but Athens will always be a place I can call home. -Skinnyqb pic.twitter.com/2vyMVa0UE0
