Russell Wilson wears Ohio State jersey after losing bet to Seahawks ball boy

Russell Wilson only spent a year playing for Wisconsin before being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2012. But he was definitely pulling for the Badgers to win the Big Ten championship game Saturday.

Wilson – who helped Wisconsin win the inaugural conference championship game in 2011 over Michigan State – was so confident in his then-undefeated Badgers beating the Buckeyes that he bet on it with a Seahawks ball boy, who he called “one-of-a-kind.”

Unfortunately for him, Ohio State won, 27-21, and Wednesday, Wilson tweeted a video of himself serving his punishment. He has to wear former Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith’s Ohio State Rose Bowl jersey all week.

In the video, the Seattle quarterback says:

“If you’re a competitor, you gotta do some bets every once in a while, you know. You gotta believe in your team, you gotta believe in the people you support. And so, unfortunately, I was rooting for Wisconsin, and I made a bet. … Wisconsin, unfortunately, surprisingly, lost, so as a result, I’ve gotta wear a Troy Smith Rose Bowl jersey.”

Thanks to the Land of 10 for bringing this to our attention.
