After chaos and controversy, Tennessee’s new football coach will be Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, according to multiple reports.
Thanks to vocal Vols fans – from the “Fire Butch Jones” crowd to the angry protesters who objected to previous coaching options – Pruitt will be under an intense spotlight and likely more scrutinized than ever.
But before all that happens, let’s not forget this major moment in Pruitt’s life when he revealed he had never heard of asparagus. Back in 2006, he was the defensive coordinator at Hoover High School in Alabama, and MTV’s short-lived show Two-A-Days was a reality show that followed team members on and off the field.
Upon seeing the thin, green stack of asparagus, Pruitt asked, “What is that?”
When told what it was – a healthy, popular vegetable – he responded: “I ain’t never heard of that.”
