Report: Arkansas to name Chad Morris head coach

Add Arkansas to the list of college programs that have found a new leader in recent weeks.

The university has reportedly reached an agreement to make SMU bench boss Chad Morris the next head coach of the Razorbacks, according to Chris Low of ESPN, citing sources.

The news come less than a day after it was reported that the two sides were expected to strike a deal. Details of the contract were not immediately made public, and the school is expected to introduce Morris officially Wednesday afternoon.

The progress Morris was able to make during his three-year tenure with the Mustangs is noteworthy, considering he took a team that went 1-11 the year prior to his hiring and turned them into a 7-5 team this past season that will compete in the Frisco Bowl against Louisiana Tech.

Morris boasts an overall record of 14-22 with the Mustangs, and will take over for the departed Bret Bielema, who was fired on Nov. 24.
