Campbell says ISU QB Kyle Kempt's status is "day-to-day"

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa State coach Matt Campbell says quarterback Kyle Kempt is day to day with an undisclosed injury.

Kempt’s health is crucial for Iowa State (6-4, 4-3 Big 12). He and redshirt freshman Noland are the only available quarterbacks left with two games to go. Campbell says he will probably know by Wednesday if Kempt will play this weekend at Baylor.

Noland was 17 of 28 passing for 263 yards in his first significant action last week against Oklahoma State. He drove the Cyclones to Oklahoma State’s 3-yard line before throwing a game-ending interception with less than a minute left.
