Washington's Pettis ties NCAA all-time punt return TD record

Washington‘s Dante Pettis inched closer to NCAA history Saturday, as the wideout tied the all-time NCAA record for punt returns with the eighth of his career.

Pettis joined Wes Welker (Texas Tech) and Antonio Perkins (Oklahoma) for a three-way share of the record thanks to his return against Fresno State.

If Pettis can keep up something like his current pace, it is highly likely that the senior will claim the sole lead by the end of the season. Saturday also made Pettis just the third player in NCAA history to return a punt for a touchdown in three consecutive games.
