Report: In addition to his role at Florida, Steve Spurrier has landed a new job

Good news for those who think college football just isn’t the same without the Head Ball Coach.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch, Spurrier is joining SiriusXM’s College Sports Nation (channel 84 on satellite radios and the SiriusXM app). Beginning Tuesday Aug. 15, Spurrier will appear on the channel three times per week, including every Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm ET, every Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 pm ET, and every Thursday from 8:00 to 9:00 am ET.

Last year, Spurrier became an ambassador and consultant to the University of Florida athletic department. Known for his quick wit, Spurrier will almost certainly attract an audience beyond Gators and Gamecocks fans.

Hopefully we’ll get more quips on the radio show like his recent LSU zinger at the Independence Bowl kickoff luncheon in Shreveport, La.

“You can have good ball players and still not win football games — all you LSU fans know about that.”
