Irvin, Lewis, Sapp among Miami's 2017 Ring of Honor inductees

The University of Miami announced the latest induction class for its prestigious Ring of Honor on Friday, and the list is about as star-studded as it could possibly be.

In an official statement released by the university, it was revealed Michael Irvin, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Warren Sapp, and Sean Taylor will see their names enshrined in Miami’s Ring of Honor.

All five will be recognized during a presentation at Hard Rock Stadium on Oct. 12 when the Hurricanes take on Georgia Tech.

Both Irvin and Sapp have already been enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, while Lewis and Reed could find themselves getting the call sooner rather than later. Taylor played three-and-a-half seasons for the Washington Redskins before he was shot and killed by an intruder in his home in 2007.

All five men are already members of the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame. This year will be the first that has held a Ring of Honor induction class since 2014.
