LSU AD had 'no contact with anyone' about rescheduling Florida game

If Florida asked LSU to reschedule Saturday’s postponed game, it was news to Joe Alleva.

The Tigers athletic director explained Thursday evening that he had “no contact with anyone” about the rescheduling of the game. Reports surfaced after the matchup was moved due to Hurricane Matthew that Florida had proposed a Nov. 19 make up date.

That date would have been logistically challenging to pull off anyway, as Florida would have to cancel its game with Presbyterian, and LSU against South Alabama.

It remains to be seen if the game will matter in the SEC standings or for bowl eligibility and will have to be made up, but both teams will likely be healthier at a later date.

The Gators are currently missing several starters which could have included quarterback Luke Del Rio, and the Tigers were expected to be without star running back Leonard Fournette this weekend.
