Nashville newspaper lobbies to have Dolly Parton on ESPN's College GameDay

ESPN’s College GameDay is heading to Knoxville for the Florida-Tennessee game for Week 4 of the college football season. As the Nashville Scene points out, this leaves open a range of possibilities for the celebrity game picker — after all, it’s a city with a number of colorful personalities. Their pick, which we at For The Win wholeheartedly endorse, is country legend Dolly Parton.

Does Dolly even care a lick about college football? I don’t know and it doesn’t even matter. Katy Perry was once a celebrity guest picker and she turned out to be one of the best they’ve ever had. Dolly Parton was born in East Tennessee and she’s the best damn thing about this state. It’s her and whiskey, at least. So many things in our country seem wrong right now. Dolly Parton is right.
