Georgia Tech’s interception of Deshaun Watson turned into a hilarious safety

Even when things went wrong for Deshaun Watson and Clemson, they really ended up going the right way on Thursday night.

Late in the second quarter, Watson let a pass get away from him, and it was easily intercepted by Georgia Tech’s Lance Austin in the end zone. With Georgia Tech’s offense doing absolutely nothing in the first half, Austin looked to make an impact and return his interception.

It wasn’t the best decision.

Austin tried to throw a juke at Clemson’s Mike Williams, and in the process, Georgia Tech’s Corey Griffin collided with Austin. He fumbled the ball into the end zone and fell on it for a safety.

Yeah, that somehow happened. Clemson turned an interception into a safety.

That’s how you know it’s your kind of night.
