One week after nearly losing at home to Nicholls State, in what would have been the greatest upset in Georgia football history, the Bulldogs take to the road for their SEC opener, against Missouri.
The Dogs and the Tigers have tangled four times since Mizzou joined the SEC, with Georgia winning the first match in 2012 and going 3-1 overall. The first three games weren’t close, but Georgia prevailed in a miserable game last season, 9-6, in Athens.
Missouri’s only win against Georgia came in Athens in 2013, 41-26, and the Tigers proceeded to win the SEC East. Georgia won in 2012 on its way to the East title. Georgia topped Missouri in 2014, but the Tigers won the East that season. No one at DawgNation is predicting a 2016 title for either team yet, but we think these results are worth a mention.
Missouri is 1-1 this season, and its passing game could provide a test for Georgia’s secondary.
