If we got anything out of Thursday’s college football games, it’s that some football players did an outstanding job turning their jerseys into hilarious sequences of names.
Take a look at what happened when Louisville’s Traveon Samuel sat next to quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has “L. Jackson” on the back of his jersey despite being Louisville’s only Jackson.
“Samuel L. Jackson.”
I want to believe that this wasn’t planned, and that fate brought these two players together in that moment with Jackson having a totally unnecessary “L.” on his jersey. But I think this was orchestrated for the cameras, and that’s totally fine because it’s still funny.
Wake Forest also had fun with the name sequences. Keegan Good and Augustus Fortune used their jerseys to spell out “Good Fortune.” Nice, but not as good as “Samuel L. Jackson.”
There’s plenty of football left to play, which will inevitably lead to more great name sequences. It’s already off to a solid start.
