Former Tide player Kevin Turner passes away from ALS

Died after 5-year battle with ALS

Today, former Crimson Tide and NFL player, Kevin Turner passed away from his five year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). It’s a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. I feel for what the Turner family is going through as my father-in-law passed away from the same disease. Turner was an ambassador for raising money towards research for finding a cure. From what I read, he was always upbeat and never wanted pity from anyone. He’s an inspiration. RIP and Roll Tide!
